No Rest For The Obsessed
So today has not been one of those "productive" ones. I have been obsessed with this whole island thing lately and have wasted hours drooling over islands. If you have bottomless pants and want to really get something special for me for Christmas, I suggest this. It gives me shivers, it is so great. And really quite a deal. This one would really make me love you. Look how fantastic it is! If your blood isn't boiling with excitement, then you're not really looking at it. This one is modestly priced and in a beautiful area. I should really be spending less time piddling and more time earning and saving money in order to purchase one of these beauties. Now, there's a goal!
This is the track list to the mix CD I made today (see piddling comment above):
Mississippi John Hurt - Goodnight Irene
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Andrew Bird - Master Fade
Devendra Banhart - A Sight To Behold
The National - 90-mile Water Wall
16 Horsepower - Hang My Teeth on Your Door
K-os - Crabbucket
Eels - That's Not Really Funny
Tom Waits - Hoist That Rag
Slim Cessna's Auto Club - This is How We Do Things in the Country
the Black Keys - Stack Shot Billy
Calexico - Alone Again
Eleni Mandell - Can't You See I'm Soulful
Daniel Johnston - Story of an Artist
The Mercy Seat - Drinking with Bukowski
Dr. John - Piano interlude
Sufjan Stevens - He Woke Me Up Again
(Do you see the dream opening and closing theme? Clever, huh? It's like some funky and edge-of-depressed dream where Irene missed her queue.)

Sirrah, I'm totally ready for the island. That italian one is like the setting of a James Bond extra-exciting-and-believeable climax, in an underground cavern on the island! Thats pretty expensive though, like $30M.
The castle one is cool, i never saw that one before.
much more affordable (about the same price as a 2 bedroom 50's "starter" home in our San Diego neighborhood).
I would totally buy one of the canadian ones right now that are like 70K except
1. do US banks give loans for foreign properties?
2. can US citizens buy things like that in Canada?
3. What is the reality of the island, is that lake 100 miles on a dirt road from the nearest village?
4. is there a monster on the island?
Riddle me these questions, and then we'll get down to work.

You know, of course, that I can still stalk your blog even if you move to a remote island. You know that, right?

1. How about Canadian banks?
2.Here is good info on moving to Canada. It seems they really do prefer "useful" people to us bohemians, so it might be sticky.
3. If you call the Vladi people they will be happy to answer all your questions, or get you in touch with someone who can.
4. Why slay any monsters when we could profit from them? People love that shit.
